Obituary of Terry Halpenny

Entered into rest at home on Saturday May 27, 2017.  Harold Terrance ‘Terry’ Halpenny of Lyn aged 73 years. Beloved husband of Diane (Andrè) Halpenny, loving father of Scott Halpenny (Leann) and Andrea Crook (Shawn) all of Ottawa, cherished Poppa of Chloe Halpenny, Justin and Alexia Crook. Dear son of Winona and the late Garnet  Halpenny. Terry is survived by his brother Brian Halpenny (Joan), and sister Mary Jean Short (David) as well as several nieces and nephews.      

Terry was unwaveringly devoted to his family and took great pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren, supporting their endeavours and following their achievements.

He also enjoyed hockey and nature photography, and was an avid fisherman; landing a 10 lb lake trout the morning of his passing.

Travelling with his wife also became an enjoyable passion in the later part of his life.

Terry also took pride in being a staff member with 1986 CJHL Champion Brockville Braves and achieving a lifetime achievement award for his work in compiling the history of the CJHL.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Wednesday from 6 - 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday June 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. Interment will be at a later date.  In memory of Terry, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.  Messages of condolence may be sent online at www.barclayfuneralhome.com.
