Obituary of Louise Campbell

Louise Marie Olivette Campbell, passed away peacefully in Brockville on February 9, 2025. Louise was born on May 5, 1946, in Henryville, QC. She is the daughter of the late Gilberte Corbeil Campbell and Georges A Campbell.

She is survived by her two children; Catherine Gross-Strayer (Richard Strayer) and Philip Gross; four grandchildren, Brent, Spencer, Holden, Chloe; great grandchild, Malcolm; and her devoted sister and brother, Marie Campbell and Robert Campbell. In addition, Louise leaves behind many loving friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Henderson; the late Anton Gross; her parents; and her sister Marcelle (Jean Marc Talbot).

After growing up in Henryvillle QC, Louise lived most of her Life in North Augusta Ontario and then resided and worked in Brockville over the last 27 years.

While keeping busy in her retirement years, she worked as teacher’s assistant at Academie Catholic Ange-Gabriel, volunteered at the Brockville Arts centre, and also dressed in time period character while volunteering at the Fulford place museum. In addition to her volunteer work, Louise had a thirst for travel and kept busy with excursions exploring Canada and the States. Her family always looked forward to her witty commentary, photos, and updates from her travels.

Louise had an easy-going nature and could easily light up a room with her laughter, center loved ones and friends with her common sense advice, and would always tell it “like it is” with her steadfast and practical outlook on life. Her wit, sense of humor, enduring optimism, and loving nature will be missed by her friends and family.

A private friends and family Interment will be held at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Brockville, in the spring. In memory of Louise, donations to Brockville General Hospital’s Palliative Care Program would be appreciated.
