





Obituary of Bernice Avery
Lorna ‘Bernice’ Avery (nee Edgley)
26 May 1939 – 14 February 2025
Peacefully entered into rest with family by her side at St. Lawrence Lodge, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Gordon Avery.
Loving mother of Rick Avery (Alma), Bob Avery (Sue), Nancy Garton (Dennis) and Debbie Avery Crain (Allan). Daughter of the late Lorne and Angie (Ferguson) Edgley, and sister Joan Coville. Survived by brother Leon (Joyce) and sister Phyllis (Ken). Cherished Grandmother of 8 and Great Grandmother of 5, along with many nieces and nephews.
For anyone who knew Bernice, it was well known that she was an avid baker, with butter tarts, fried cakes and pies her specialty. She was also an active member/volunteer in her community. She spent a lot of time at the Mallorytown Ball Park, member at the Mallorytown United Church, and at the Mallorytown Legion Branch 484. Overall, she was a community member of Mallorytown for most of her life. Many will know that she loved the birds as well as being an avid dog lover and gardener. Mom was also blessed with the kindness shown by her close neighbours Adam and Yogi, Dan and Carla and their families
A Graveside Service will be held at the Mallorytown Cemetery on Saturday May 3, 2025 at 1 p.m. A reception will follow at the Mallorytown United Church.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Mallorytown Legion Branch 484 or the Brockville and area Humane Society.
At this time, the family would like to thank the Bridlewood Manor Staff as well as her extended family at St. Lawrence Lodge, Maple Unit, your kindness and compassion will always be remembered
