Obituary of Elizabeth MacRae

Entered into rest peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Thursday March 6, 2025. Elizabeth Marie MacRae (Favret) of Brockville age 88 years. Loving mother of Charlene Gehan (Paul), Leslie McMahon (Muriel), Patrick McMahon (JoAnne), Anita Blair (Bill), Maureen Blackstock (Doug)    Step mother of Susan Centen (Martin).  Cherished grandmother of 9 and great grandmother of 7 plus one on the way. Dear sister of Jane Mattle (Ken) and Claudia Crayton (Bruce). Liz is also survived by her sister-in-law Carol Favret and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Les MacRae, her brother Jack Favret and parents Claude and Edna (Docteur) Favret.

Elizabeth was a caring, compassionate nurse for over 40 years.  She started her career at Brockville General Hospital.  She the spent many years at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital and concluded her nursing career as a nursing administrator at St. Lawrence Lodge.  In retirement, she loved to travel.  She did numerous cruises throughout the world and spent many winters in the Florida sunshine.  She also enjoyed her vast circle of friends, former colleagues, Probus Gatherings, and going to theater productions.
Family and friends will be received for visitation at Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville, on Saturday May 10,2025 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. John Bosco Parish at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
