Obituary of Kate Goodfriend

Katherine A. Goodfriend (Abrams)

(1952-2025).

With great sadness, Katie passed away in the Brockville General Hospital on March 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving partner of 43 years Barry Galway and her family.

Katie was predeceased by her parents Glenn and Marion,  step father Floyd Smith, sisters Glenda, Lana, Marsha, Cindy, Trina and brother Brett.

She will be greatly missed by her surviving sisters Wendy (John), Marilyn, Jane (Allan), Judy (Mike), and brothers Neil (Mary) and Darryn (Kandra). She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, step children, grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Katie was employed for 42 years of service at Queen’s University until her retirement 12 years ago. As were Katie’s wishes, she has generously donated her body to the Human Body Donor Program in the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at Queen’s University.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations, for those wishing to, may be made to the Brockville General Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Arrangements are entrusted to Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St., Brockville.
