Obituary of Joan Frances Thomson-Hunt

Surrounded by her family, Joan passed away at the Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025. The former Joan Grice of Brockville, age 80 years. Beloved wife of Mel Hunt and the late Wayne Thomson. Cherished mother of Christine Birtch (Michael), Sheryl VanSpriel (Jason) and the late Derek Thomson. Proud grandmother of Ashley (Andrew), Olivia and Ryker; and great-grandmother of Mallory, Mika and Kael. Family by choice of Amber Comeau (Ryan) and family. Step-mother of Sherry Benoit (Richard) John Hunt(Wendy); and step-grandmother of Tristan, John Matthew, Destiny, Taylor, Nick and the late Ryan. Dear daughter of the late Francis and Iva (Grant) Grice; and sister of Margaret Meikle, John Grice (Dean) and the late Carmel Moore (Richard).

A private graveside service will be held. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St E, Brockville, on Monday, April 14th, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by her family.
