Obituary of Michael Joseph Allan

Allan, Michael (March 01, 1968-June 30, 2023)

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Joseph Allan on Friday June 30, 2023, at the Brockville General Hospital at the age of 55. Beloved father of Delaney and Connor Allan. Dear son of Wayne (Yolande) Allan, and the late Maureen Allan. Mike is survived by his sister Martha Allan and step sister Josee Savoie (David Boucher) and his former wife Diana Allan. Mike was predeceased by his beloved four-legged companion, Scoop the cat.

Michael grew up in Brockville attending St. Francis Xavier school, followed by TISS. He furthered his education beginning with Centennial College to gain a General Arts and Science diploma followed by 3 years at Algonquin College to gain a high achievement award from the Business Administration and Marketing Program. Following his graduation he settled in Brockville with his wife, Diana, and started working for Craig Packaging in Iroquois from 1992 until 2008. After 2008 he moved through a few jobs until he settled into Levac Supply up to this present time.

Throughout his life, Mike was known for his commitment to health and well being. He was a member of the YMCA for many years and practiced Karate with Delaney until he ultimately achieved his 2nd degree Black belt. Mike also showed great commitment to keeping up with his children's sporting events, attending almost all of Connor’s hockey and football games, as well as attending both of his children's school sporting events during his lunch breaks. In recent years he found great enjoyment riding his motorcycle around the area, and also found peace in meditation. He was always known for his unique sense of humour and following through with his commitments. In his final years, Mike had found himself in the role of a caregiver to those close to him. A role that he performed with dedication, compassion, and to his utmost ability.
A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at the Keystorm Pub from 11am to 1pm on Sunday July 9th.  All are welcome to share and listen to stories of Mike. In memory of Mike, donations to the Diabetes Association would be gratefully appreciated by the family. Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East entrusted with the arrangements.
