Obituary of Barbara Gay Edgley

Born in 1949 to parents Maurice and Effie Shaver of Cardinal, Ontario. Gay was the oldest of seven children, Peggy Goodmurphy (Earl) of Lyndhurst, Jerry Shaver (predeceased) (Rikki) of Iroquois, Bill Shaver of Timmins, Terry Shaver (predeceased), Linda Timlick (Larry) of St. Thomas and Morris Shaver of Cardinal. Gay was married to Stuard Edgley in 1968. They went on to have three children; Mike Edgley (Jeane) of Mallorytown and their children Dillon, Dominic and Mukayla and their grandchildren Rae Lyn and Evelyn Lyn; Stuart Edgley (Jackie) of Brockville and their children Terrence and Mitchell (Carolynn) and their grandchild Paisley; April Edgley (Giles Loshaw Jr.) of Athens. Gay was a sweet, kind, loving and compassionate lady with a strong devotion to the Standard Church. Other interests include nursing, swimming (masters) and Blind Bowlers (coach) and her love of the St. Lawrence River (Grenadier Island).  The family would like to send a special thank you to the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their compassion and care of Gay.

She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday March 3, 2024 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Brockville Legion, 180 Park St., Brockville, Ontario.
