Obituary of Sydney Bolton

It is with broken hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend Sydney William George Bolton on Friday August 21, 2020, peacefully at home. Sydney is survived by -his loving wife of 55 years, Elaine (King), daughter Donna Bolton-Steele (David) of Oshawa; son Andrew of Surrey BC. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Emma and Molly Steele and Ryan Bolton. Dear brother of Martha Ravensdale, Thomas Bolton (Barbara), Robert Bolton (Catherine), Dorothy Lapierre (Jack). Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Sydney was predeceased by his parents George and Irene Bolton (Palmer) and his brother-in-law Geoffrey Ravensdale. His family, church, Masonic and Eastern Star fraternal organizations were of utmost importance to him. He was a Life Member of Salem Lodge #368, also a long time member of Sussex St. Lawrence Chapter #59 Gondemar Perceptory of the Knights Templer, Brockville & District Shrine Club; Florence Nightengale #5 and Violet Chapter #206, Order of the Eastern Star. Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held at Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. East, Brockville. Interment will follow at New Dublin Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In memory of Sydney, donations to St. John the Baptist Church, Lyn; Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care or Montreal Shriner’s Children’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
