Obituary of Diane Frances Weatherdon-Sader
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diane on Monday July 11, 2022 at the Brockville General Hospital. Diane entered into rest peacefully at the age of eighty-two. Diane was the beloved wife of Don Sader. Cherished mother of Donna Richards (Robert), Catherine Weatherdon and Derek Weatherdon (Michelle). Much loved grandmother and great grandmother of Sean Richards (Michele) and their children, Larkin, Colton and Teagan. Kristen Richards (Erica) and their children Hayden and Chance Jakielaszek. Sierra Merkley (Sean) and Eric Merkley (Kirstie). Maggie Weatherdon and Andy Fountain. Dear sister of Joan Pratt and Deborah Hennessy (Terry). Diane will also be sadly missed by her stepchildren Jeffrey Sader (Carole) and Karyn Thompson. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and one Aunt, Joan Turner. Predeceased by her first husband, Roy Weatherdon, her parents Edwin and Edith (Clarke) Long, her brothers Michael and Peter Long and her stepson Gregory Sader.
Diane managed the demands of three young children and returned to school to complete her education at Brockville General Hospital. She worked as a staff nurse and then a head nurse at the Brockville Psychiatric Hospital until her retirement. Diane lived and loved as a force of nature: hard working, determined, loving, generous and a wonderful mentor. She will be greatly missed and profoundly cherished. Always our caring and watchful angel. Sleep peacefully dear one.
Family and friends will be received at Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East Brockville on Friday July 15th, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. John Bosco Parish on Saturday July 16th, 2022 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In memory of Diane, in lieu of flowers, donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
