It is with deep sadness, the family of Dan Banting announce his passing at the Kingston General Hospital on Friday January 17, 2014 after a courageous battle with Cancer, surrounded by family and close friends. Daniel Lee Banting of Lansdowne (formerly of Brampton) age 66 years. Beloved husband of Wendy (Willie) Ritchie-Banting and his step-son Todd Ritchie and his wife Jenni of Erin. Dan is also survived by several family members. Pre-deceased by his parents Gomer (Bus) and Violet Banting. Family and friends will be received at the Barclay Funeral Home, 1033 Prince Street, Lansdowne, on Tuesday Jan. 21, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday Jan. 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. In memory of Dan, donations to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation Cancer Clinic or the Gananoque and District Humane Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
