Passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 10, 2013 with his mother by his side, at the age of 59 at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street Site. He leaves to mourn, his mother Joyce (MacRae) Stanley and his sister Arlene Thompson (Ken) all of Brockville. Peter will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews Emily and her mother Maria of Truro, N.S., Corey (Christine) of Kingston and children Nathaniel and Caleb, Ryan of Brockville and Christopher (Dionne) of Banff, AB; Lorraine McIntosh (deceased) and children Natalie Mallette and her children Justyn and Trystan Mallette-Comeau of Montreal and Jeremy McIntosh of Sarnia as well as his step-sister Carol Stanley of Saint John, N.B. He will also be sadly missed by his cousins Shirley, Carol and Dale McIntosh of Montreal and all of his loving family throughout the United States and Canada. Peter is predeceased by his father Bertram McIntosh, his step-father Wendell Stanley, his sister Lorraine McIntosh and a nephew Darryl Thompson. He loved to visit his mom every Tuesday and Thursday by paratransit After graduating from McGill University with a BA in music he taught in Manitoba, New Brunswick and Montreal. He then joined the Air Command Band of Canada where he travelled extensively throughout Europe, United States and Canada and then moved to Brockville. Peter was paralyzed in 2004 when he was struck by a car while walking to his mom’s house. The funeral will be held at Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Cote-des-Neiges Cemetery in Montreal at a later date. A special thanks goes to Nicole Baker, Peter’s care taker for all her support and help since 2004 and all the nurses and doctors who helped Peter through his life.
