Passed away at the Brockville General Hospital, Charles Street Site after a brief illness at the age of 89. Loving husband for 64 years to Eileen Lois (Nixon). Devoted father to Bill Devaux (deceased may 2011), Wendy Devaux of Brockville, and Susan Christian (Karl) of North Bay. Proud “Pumpa” to Jennifer Pratt (Charlie) of Hong Kong, Jody Karkic (Alex) of Toronto, Tyler Zajacz (Susana) of Toronto, Travis Zajacz (Marinela) of Panama, Sam Christian of North Bay, and Will Christian of North Bay. Great-grandfather to Emily and Addison Karkic, and Natasha Pratt. Predeceased by his parents Ida and Lionel Devaux. Born in St. Lucia. West Indies, he moved with his parents to Canada at the age of 5. After a 17 year stint as a farmer in Williamston, ON he moved to Brockville with his wife and young family in 1955. During much of his 40 year career he was the only stock broker in Brockville. He retired at the age of 73, pursuing his interests in gardening, furniture making, bridge, travelling and reading. A Memorial Service in fond memory of Pat will be held at the Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Friday January 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
