LAIDLAW, Louisa Berniece (nee Seals) -- Died peacefully at Fox Run Retirement Residence in Gananoque on Dec. 7, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Robert Laidlaw (1996). Mother to Stephen (Connie), Blair (Trish), Linda (Dennis) and Stuart (Fiona), grandmother to Sean, Matthew, Emily, Rachel, Meaghan, Ian, Maggie and Noah, and three great grandchildren. Born Nov. 29, 1925, in Winnipeg. Missed by friends in Kingston, Athens, Brockville and at Fox Run. Predeceased by her mother Isabella (1982), father Thomas (1935), and brother Mervin (1985), and survived by her sister Audrey of Brandon, Man. The oldest of three children, Berniece began working at a young age to support her family and worked hard all her life, including at the Queens Faculty Club before retiring. Berniece loved baseball, Coronation Street, politics and a good laugh. Services at Fox Run to be arranged, with internment in Winnipeg. Special thanks to the staff at KGH and Fox Run, who made it possible for Berniece to fulfill her wish this past week to return to her own bed and watch the river flow by. A celebration of Berniece"s life will be held this week at Fox Run. Donations in her name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
