Peacefully on Wednesday October 8, at his residence, with his family by his side. Sietse (Sidney) vanderMeulen of Mallorytown, age 81 years. Beloved husband of Elske vanderMeulen. Loving father of Grace Thrasher (Kerry) of Manotick and Lloyd vanderMeulen (Sandra) of Ottawa. Cherished Pake of Alex of Toronto, Erik (Natasha) of Michigan, Erika of Ottawa and a great granddaughter Ariana of Michigan. Brother of Sietse Johannes vanderMeulen (Neeltje) of the Netherlands, also survived by brothers-in-law John vanWeerden, Gerrit Bijker and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Albert and Sietse vanderMeulen and sisters Griet Wassenaar, Trienke Kuperus, Iskje Janssen, Martha vanWeerden and Hannie Bijker. The Funeral service for family and friends will be held at the Barclay Funeral Home, 1033 Prince Street, Lansdowne on Saturday October 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Rockport Cemetery at a later date. In memoriams to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
