Peacefully, with family by his side at The Ottawa Hospital General Campus on Wednesday February 29, 2012. Jan (John) Smallegange of Maitland age 76 years. Beloved husband and Best Friend of Anna (Zylstra) Smallegange. Cherished dad of Deborah (Ron), Lynn (Rob) both of North Augusta and Anita (Marko) of Midland. Loving grandpa of Micheal (Tom), Jason (Candice) Richard (Melissa), Kristin, Breanna, Olivia, Nicole, Kristina and great-grandfather of Jocelyn, Scarlet and Alexa. Also survived by siblings Frank (Fia), Tom (Mary), Martin (Eileen), Joe (Joanie) Wilma and Kathy (Murray) as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Geert and Aaltje (Zomer) Smallegange and brothers Albert and Theo. The Funeral Service for Mr. Smallegange will be held in the chapel of the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East Brockville on Monday March 5, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. Interment Oakland Cemetery at a later date. In memoriams to the Ottawa Hospital General Campus Foundation Critical Care Unit or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
