Obituary of Helen Ellis

On Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the age of 94, Helen Irene (Moore/Brown) Ellis, passed away at the Mapleview Lodge where she has resided for the past 6 years. A long time resident of Frankville, she was predeceased by her husband Gordon E Ellis in 2001. She leaves to rejoice in her long life her children Gordon (John) of Brockville, Karen (Glenn) McCreary of Kingston, Wayne (Sharron) and Lyle (Sharon) of Brockville, Brent (Anne Marie) of Lyn, and Jill (Raymond) Howe of Grimsby, grandchildren Paul (Beth) McCreary, Scott (Penny) McCreary, Mark (Christy) McCreary, Lee (Vicky) McCreary, Andrea (Andy) Dowd, Helen Kovacic, Leigh-Ann (Bart) Rocque, Craig Ellis, Robert Ellis, Kristen (Dan) Sacks, Justin (Carla) Ellis, Stephanie (Scott) Hodge, Erin Ellis, Jennifer Howe, Ryan Howe, niece Audrey Stewart and nephew Donald (Joyce) Ellis, and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother and father Myrtle (Brown) and Netterfield Moore. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life and her many interests with the family at Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. E, Brockville, during the visitation hours Sun. Sept. 18/11 from 7-9 p.m. and Mon. Sept. 19/11 from 12:30-1:45 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Internment will follow in the family plot at Glen Elbe. Florence Nightingale Chapter #5 Order of the Eastern Star will hold a Memorial Service Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family wish to thank the staff of Mapleview Lodge for the excellent support and care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Addison United Church, the Mapleview Lodge Auxiliary, or charity of choice. She has gone home to continue her love of cooking, creative endeavors and sports with those many friends and relatives of the Moore/Brown/Ellis family who have passed on before her. “Knit up a storm dear Mother. Thanks for bringing us into the world. You will always be with us.”
