Peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Brockville General Hospital Charles Street Site on Friday April 1, 2011. Laura Elizabeth (Snowdon) Forbes of Athens (Formerly of Brockville) age 85 years, beloved wife of the late Ken Forbes. Dear mother of Linda Bakker of Kingston, Sharon Covey of Athens, and Cathy Forbes and her husband Rick Lewis of St. Catharines. Loving nanny of 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Sister of Verner Snowdon of Brockville. Also survived by sisters-in-law Margaret Kirker of Brockville and Bonnie Snowdon of Oshawa as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter Susan Dixie, son-in-law Chris Covey, 2 grandchildren Ryan Bakker and Kaitlin Lewis, her parents John and Bertha (Hobbs) Snowdon, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday April 6, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
