FLIKWEERT, Mathys "Matt" Peacefully entered into rest at Brockville General Hospital Charles St. Site, on Friday September 4th, 2015, Matt Flikweert of Mallorytown aged 77 years. Beloved husband of Joanna (Hazelaar) Flikweert. Loving father of Janet Van Bakel (Ronald) of Stittsville and William Flikweert of Maitland. Cherished grandfather of Alan Charlton, Andrew and Eric Van Bakel, Iylish and Isabella Flikweert. Dear brother of Jan Flikweert (Riet), Lida Buitelaar (Krijn), Adrian Flikweert (Aida), Nelie deHaan (Ko) and the late Henry Flikweert. Son of the late Willem and Neeltje (Honders) Flikweert. Matt will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Matt enjoyed many years as a reporter for the Athens Mural and with the Brockville Rifles. A Memorial Service to remember Matt will be held at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. East Brockville on Thursday September 10th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. The Memorial Service will begin with the Macoy Masonic Lodge # 242's Memorial Service, all are welcome.
