VICKERS, William James "Bill" Peacefully entered into rest surrounded by family at their Brockville home on Saturday October 10th, 2015, Bill Vickers aged 69 years. Beloved husband of Lise (DesRosiers) Vickers. Loving father of Kelly Bateson (Joel) of Brockville and Kevin (Lisanne) of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of Georgia, Henry and Thomas. Dear brother of Ann and Charles Vickers. Bill was the dear son of the late Clara (Beaupre) and William Vickers. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Clara (Beaupre) & William Vickers, Bill came from a family with one brother and one sister. He and his siblings grew up in Porquis Junction, Ontario. He married his wife Lise on May 22, 1976 in Cornwall before moving to Brockville Ontario where they raised their two children. Bill worked for Bell Canada for 11 years before taking the leap to entrepreneurship, purchasing an environmental technology company which he worked in for almost 40 years. Spending time with his family was Bill's first priority. Many days were spent at the cottage in Quebec, playing golf, boating, having fires at night, swimming off the boat, scooting and sailing. Bill loved music (LOUD music!) and was often the DJ while many of us danced the night away. He was always eager to play you a GREAT song and tell you what's NEW and hip. His music collection on iTunes surpassed the thousands and he loved playing music trivia with anyone who was up for the challenge. We shall all miss your warm easy smile and your sense of humour. You were adored and loved greatly by your family who takes and carries forth your strengths. We know your spirit is with us and we look forward to meeting you once again. You will always be fondly remembered as a loving husband, a great father and a really fun Pappy. Family will receive friends at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. East Brockville on Thursday October 15th, 2015 from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 until the time of Service which will be held in the Chapel at 3:30 pm. In memory of Bill donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
