Grandma, as I reflect back on the time I had with you, I realize that you will leave a big void in all our lives. You never wanted a thing from us other than a "wee" visit, your tea from a "nappie" with something sweet after your meal. Each time I would visit, you would tell me to come again soon. I would never give you a date or time when I would be back so as I would leave you would say "I know your life is busy but come again soon", My favorite memory of you is when I was a little girl. The first thing I would do when I came to your house is run to that corner cupboard in you kitchen to get one of you homemade cookies. As I reflect, those cookies were your way of showing your grandchildren your love and us eating them was our love back to you. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners in Frankville with the entire family were the best. The adults at the grown up table and us at the kiddie table, I miss those days.You and I had genealogy in common, we had some good talks about the family heritage. Once Alzheimer set in I would use that to help you remember people and dates until one day it didn't work anymore. You have left behind some very important information and I will be sure to pass in down through the generations. Yesterday's hard rain was your way of telling us that you were surprised to see your sister Velma in Heaven, the rainbow was to let us know you arrived safely and are happy to be reunited with loved ones passed. I believe you are up in heaven with Grandpa having your tea and eating your pie now.You lived a long, happy life and reached all of your goals, well most of them anyway,you were still the shortest in the family Now I guess it's my turn. I love you Grandma and will miss you.I am so grateful to have had you in my life for almost 50 years.
