Peacefully at home on Sunday June 26, 2016, with her family by her side, Marjorie Joan (Besley) Slack at the age of 74, went to be with the Lord. Marjorie was born April 18, 1942 at Hard Island, ON. A loving wife of the late Elwood for 56 years. A loving mother to Derrick (Marnie), Darrell, Gregory (Linda), Shawn, Robin and daughter-in-law Karen. A special loving grandmother to Nathan, Dallas, Heather, Dylan, Darcy and Lucas. Also survived by her sisters Cora Besley, Jenny Bender, Margaret Rusland, Lorna VanderKloet (Joe Weeks), Gwen Read (Tom) and her sister- in- law Diane Besley as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Alexander and Annabel (Dickson) Besley, her brother Arnold and a sister Alma. Family and friends may call at the Free Methodist Church Athens on Saturday July 2, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. The Funeral Service will follow at 1 p.m. In memory of Marjorie, donations to the Free Methodist Church Athens would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
