It is with deep sadness that we announce that on Saturday July 16, 2016 Paula Johnston (nee Gougeon), daughter of the late Gregoire Gougeon and Dorothy Gougeon-Prevost (nee Dupuis), entered into rest at home surround by family after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Carl, their children Greg (Sarah Khorrami), John (Tina Davies), Sarah Bourgoin (Yves) and Kendra (Geoff Pearson). Also two loving grandchildren Taneesha and Alicia. She also leaves behind siblings Daniel Gougeon (Rosemary), twin sister Sonya van Rijswijk (Eric), Dennis Gougeon (Sue), Lise Taggart (Bill), Vince Gougeon, Christine Gougeon (Marc) and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Special thanks to Michelle Whitmore, Carley McArthur, and the rest of the team at Bayshore Home Health, as well as the staff at Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care, and Doctors Lupe and Song of The Ottawa General Cancer Centre, who provided comfort and care to Paula and the whole family through this difficult time. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East Brockville on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated in the Chapel on Thursday July 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. In memory of Paula, donations the Ottawa General Hospital Cancer Centre, Brockville General Hospital Foundation Palliative Care or the Irving Greenburg Cancer Centre would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
