Dear Barbara John and David and families,
Having lost both my parents, I empathize with your sadness in the passing of your mother. Since I am unable to attend the service for Aunt Roseleyne I shall try to convey my condolences to you here.
I believe that what is important, and what lives on about a person is the memories that they leave behind. I will always remember your mother's smile, her laughter, her sense of humour, her pride in her children and grandchildren, her keen mind, her sense of cheerfulness in the face of adversity and not least, her cooking and baking skills of which I availed myself whenever possible. ;)
She had such a presence in the world and I can only imagine, having lived close to 100 years, how many changes she witnessed in her lifetime; wow, what an experience. So, with sadness, but also with gratitude for having known her, I say "Farewell Aunt Roseleyne; you did good things in this life and you will be missed."
