I was deeply sadden of hearing of Zilda's passing this evening. I met Zilda working with her at Bell Canada in the early 1970's. We became great friends working together and extending our friendship with our families outside of Bell. Zilda and I always had a special connection and had remained friends all these years. Condolences to Bob and to the family. She will be greatly missed but thankfully we have wonderful memories of our times together. Rest peacefully my dear friend.
Love Kate.

Dear Bob. I felt deep sadness when I read in the newspaper of the passing of your dear wife, Zilda. I worked with Zilda during the union campaign at Bell in Torotno in the seventies. She, Marina and I stuffed many an envelope until late at night at 33 Cecil street to inform many an Ontario telephone worker about the CWC and the reason to join a union at Bell. We had such great times with Zilda,. Her wonderful sense of humour, her great giggle and very smart ideas about life in general. I loved al the wonderful stories she told about her growing up in NL as well as all her lovely family. WHAT A WOMAN.
I AM A BETTER PERSON TO HAVE KNOWN HER.
I wish you and your family all the very best for the future and all my sympathies.

Dear Bob,
While I have known you and Zilda for many years it is only since Zilda became ill that I was able to spend some quiet time with her, sometimes not talking but simply holding hands as no words were needed to express what we were trying to say to each other. It is during these times that I felt very close to Zilda and wish I had more time with my my new friend. As Zilda said to me at the end of our last visit: TILL WE MEET AGAIN MY FRIEND. Zilda you will be missed.
