I met Bob in December 2009 and worked together until his retirement. We built a great friendship and trust. Bob was a very nice gentleman and talked about his Scouts and how much he enjoyed the youngsters. He will be missed by his colleagues, friends, his church, and his loved family. I was blessed in having him as a friend.

I wanted to provide my condolences to Bob's family. I was extremely saddened and heart broken to hear of Bob's passing.
I worked closely with Bob while I was at the Brockville plant through 1996. Bob was truly an excellent example of a dedicated employee with high standards and principles. He was always willing to spend whatever time was needed to help others as well. Bob was truly the consummate engineer. I was always amazed at his ability to absorb and understand so much information and be able to retain it. It was really quite remarkable how he could remember decisions made down to small details.
The Brockville plant would never had been as good as it was, was it not for the many contributions Bob made. And it was a joy to be around Bob.....at work or outside of work. He was always pleasant, calm and funny.
My hearfelt condolences to his family.

Bob Loved Engineering and doing the RIGHT thing.
Memories of Bob and his Beloved Engineering:
I found Bob sitting cross legged on the floor of Canadian Tire just before closing time one Wednesday Evening with pipe fittings on three sides of him working to figure out and purchase piping for the Swiffer wet liquid processing system. What Joy I saw in Bob remember Bob’s rules on the Pulsar Project, “No Changes at this point for the Pulsar Project unless it is found to be against code, would not work or just plain stupid.”
I often use that "Bob the Builder" rule and Bob's rule to never install anything between 5 feet and 7 feet (no not meters) above a floor so people would not bump their heads on the obstruction.
So often, Bob would say "Lets start the design with the perfect solution, then we can modify it as necessary from there to address constraints" That was Bob, A Few Simple to Execute Rules. With Tears in my eyes, Bob will will truly be missed.
Bob's Friend and Co-Worker.

My condolences.
I spent a lot of time traveling to Waterloo and back with Bob many years ago as we recruited together for P&G. I remember as part of the many information sessions that we did Bob would always share with the students that he was happy walking into work 98% of the time. That stood out to me - his happy outlook in contrast to all the difficulties.
He could also tell you how many cfm's of air circulation were needed in any given room you were in together.
What a character! I will never forget him.

Susan, Michelle and Joey, Marie and I are so sorry for your loss. We had many names for Bob, from Bob the Builder, Zoltar, Bobby V and the best one ...friend. He was always there to talk, listen, laugh, joke, help and do whatever he could to make things better. Bob had a real impact on my life, as he did with so many, and I will always remember the trips and projects that we called “Bob and Ted’s Excellent Adventures”. We were able to work and have fun, sometimes more fun than work. He will be missed by so many.
