I am very sorry to hear of Betty's passing. She seemed to be a woman ahead of her time. She and my mom, Ellie Delaney-Fry (nee Zawila - from Baltimore and then Gananoque) were very good friends and shared a lot of fun times together dating as far back as the 1950s. They had a strong intellectual bond and deep respect for each other's professional lives, and also really enjoyed cajoling each other. I seem to remember a lot of stories about partying on the River and renting cottages together with friends. I wish you peace, Betty. My Mom also just passed last week, so I imagine the two are in heaven now, hashing out an idea over a strong tea and a cigarette. It brings me comfort, too.
