A fine colleague and lovely person! I'm so glad we spent some (too little!) time together and so sorry she's gone.

I am so sorry to hear about Carolyn. She was a colleague, a friend, and at one time, a trusted confidant. Her wit and intelligence were two of my favourite things about her, and I will miss knowing she is in the world. My condolences to her family and friends.

Carolyn and I had not communicated for several years, but we were quite frequent correspondents before I had to let my Editors' Association membership slide. We talked each other through some hard times, and I appreciated all the help she gave me then. I hope that I was equally helpful to her. To the family, I'm very sorry for your loss, and I hope that warm memories of times shared together will soon overcome current grief. Kind regards, Ann

I am SO sorry to hear of Carolyn's passing. I'm an editor colleague of hers and a fellow animal lover. We enjoyed some time together a few years back rehoming two cats whose owner had died. She was wonderful and smart and funny and compassionate. Not fair that she's gone. My heartfelt condolences to all her family and friends.

I am sending my deepest condolences to Carolyn's family and friends. I knew her through the Editors' Association of Canada. I met her in person only once (I can picture, perfectly, a dinner she was at with us, at the 2012 conference). But we had many, many email conversations. She was clever, witty, kind and smart.
I bought her book Meaningless Platter Dudes when it came out, to support her. I'm so glad I have it now because I will have many reminders of her sharp wit.
There have been several tributes to her tonight in various editing groups. She was loved and admired. And she will be missed by many people.

I'm heartbroken to hear of Carolyn's death. She was a treasured member of our editing tribe, as much for her humour as her language skills, and we've missed her often these last years. My deepest condolences to those who knew her best and loved her most. There was no one like her.

Dear Marilyn, Laurence, Heather, and Mike and all the family - our sincere condolences to all of you in the loss of your dear Carolyn. I was proud to know and work for her Mum, and of, course her brother David, and know that family is dear to all of you. May wonderful memories bring you comfort as I'm sure you brought comfort to Carolyn during her illness
