Dear Dave, Rob, and Paula,
My heart hangs heavy for your all. George was such a great man! I truly feel like I am a better person just for having known him. I'm sure this is the sentiment most people share that had the honor of spending any time with him. I will always remember him as a wise, kind, thought provoking, and generous person, the kind of person by which all other people fall in reference to and the kind of man I aspire to one day be. He took time, he taught me things, he shared jokes, conversation and good (and bad) ideas with me and overall, whether intentional or not, he helped me grow into a better person and for that I will be forever thankful.
I wish you fortitude and strength in the challenging time ahead and want to reassure you that George lives on through the memories that those of us fortunate enough to have known him will always cherish, and through the inescapable and infectious idiosyncratic tendencies that he instilled in all of us, whether we liked it or not, whether we realize it or not.
I last saw George at the Tincap diner, and albeit I didn't know at the time that he was Ill, I found it easy and enjoyable to talk to him, as though I had only last seen him yesterday, despite it being years. To me, this is the telltale mark of a person who you think so fondly of. That they're always in the recesses of your memory, and however faint, still persist. It is absolutely effortless to conjure up a memory of him smiling, making a fantastic pun, or having a good time and to his testament, rightly so. Time does not seem to pose a boundary for people like George, and the kindness you share with someone like him will always prevail. It is this rare kind of person with which you needn't say goodbye, so you just say so long.
So so long George.
Until we meet again.
Please accept my sincerest condolences, and know that I am here for you.
Do not ever hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can do.

I am so sorry for your loss. With a firm hope for the future, death is accurately described as an enemy in the bible at 1 Corinthians 15:26. We can't help but feel the void when someone we love dies. The Bible holds out a hope for us that I personally have found to be a comfort. I especially love the scripture found at John 5:28,29 that says, " Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear Jesus' voice and come out." Jesus promises that millions now dead will again live on this earth, and have the prospect of remaining on it forever under peaceful conditions. It is my sincere hope that these thoughts bring a measure of peace to your minds and hearts, as they have to mine. Once again, please accept my heartfelt greetings and condolences.
