My heartfelt condolences go out to Jerry’s family. I have many fond memories of Jerry from our teenage years. He was a kind and gentle man, always there with a chuckle and friendly smile. Jerry hitting those high notes on two of his favorite songs, Del Shannon’s “Runaway” and The Platters “The Great Pretender”, are just two of the precious memories of him I will always have. RIP Dear Friend!
Jerry & I had great fun as children and teenagers in the 50's & 60's. I have many fond memories of our friendship and summers on the river. Jerry honoured me by being my Best Man 50 years ago this month. Our deepest sympathy to the family.
To Gerry’s. children and grandchildren
I attended St Mary’s school with Gerry as a classmate. Gerry was a kind, lighthearted soul with always a smile or a laugh. Our paths crossed again years later when we purchased the family home on Ruskin Crescent from your grandmother. I will always remember Gerry learning to skate in grade 8 on the St. Mary’s outdoor ice rink. It takes courage at that age to tackle a new skill but he was totally up to the task laughing as his ankles turned in and he fell time and time again. No one had more fun that day than Gerry. Then again for all I know he could have been a highly skilled skater just playing a joke on us!!! As the years passed we would greet one another on King Steet as we were both “downtowners”. A wonderful peer gone all too soon.
