Peacefully entered into rest, surrounded by his family, at the Brockville General Hospital Charles St. Site on Saturday November 24th, 2018. Gerry Shackles of Brockville, age 89 years. Beloved husband for 64 years of Donelda (Eagle) Shackles. Loving father of Lynn Robertson (Rob Roy), Bob (Sylvia), Doug (Carol Comerford), Ed (Hanh), and Mark Shackles (Tracey) of Brockville and area. Cherished grandfather of Alicia and Robert Robertson (Victoria), Emily Durand (Phil), Jennifer O’Reilly (Mike), Chris, Katie, Shannon and Kyle Shackles, Bella and Angelina Shackles, Taylor Shackles (Blake Blackburn) and Reilly Shackles (Jordon Markel); and great-grandfather of Lacey, Tyson, Brookelynn, Ethan, Nick, Addison, Claire, Leah, Charlotte, Lydia, Hudson and Greyson. Dear son of the late William and Gertrude (Meatyard) Shackles. Brother of Lillian Clow and the late Geraldine, Kathleen, Edie, Norman and Alfred. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. E., Brockville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel on Thursday November 29th, 2018 at 11a.m. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
