Obituary of Audrey Ruth Irwin
Audrey Ruth Irwin (nee Hancock) passed away at the Providence Manor in Kingston, Ontario on Sunday April 7th 2019. Audrey aged 97, was the beloved wife of 73 years to William (Bill) Irwin who recently passed away at the Providence Manor in Kingston, on March 9th, 2019.
Loving mother to Susan Irwin (the late Bruce Bryan) of Brockville and formerly of Lyndhurst, Ontario and Nancy Irwin (the late Jean-Pierre Lavoie) of Kingston and formerly of Rosemere, Quebec. Predeceased by her parents Howard and Lorraine (nee Simard) and sisters Irene (Miller) and Martha (Hjalmarson). Also missed by many nieces and nephews.
Audrey spent her youth in Ottawa, graduating from Glebe Collegiate and nursed at Ottawa Civic Hospital after her marriage. Audrey spent many years in Pointe Claire, Quebec then in Senneville, Quebec enjoying bridge, sewing, and gardening with her many friends. In retirement she led a quiet and rewarding life in Athens, Ontario then finally in Brockville where her rose garden became her passion.
Our mother had a long and happy life and marriage and she is where she wanted to be with our dad, having a martini and a game of bridge with her lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Audrey and Bill will take place on Wednesday June 19th, at the Rockport Barn, 28 Old River Road, Mallorytown, Ontario from 2 – 4 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Barclay Funeral Home.
