Obituary of Warren Fraser Bennett
One day shy of his 98th birthday, peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on Tuesday April 23, 2019. Warren Fraser Bennett of Brockville. Warren was predeceased by his wife Ethel (Webster). Dear father to David Bennett (Rhea), Denise Bennett, and predeceased by his son Keith Bennett and daughter Sheila Bennett. Cherished grandfather to Melissa Shaver (Roger), Heather Burton, Kevin Bennett (Roxane) and Justin Bennett (Marie France). Great grandfather to Alyssa, Lindsey (Nick), and Jessie. Warren was the last living of the 5 sons of Herbert and Mary Bennett. He was predeceased by brothers Gordon, Ernie, John, and Albert. After retiring from the East York Public School Board, Warren enjoyed traveling in his RV, fishing and puttering at the cottage on Charleston Lake. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Special thanks are extended from the family to the staff at the Wedgewood Retirement Residence, Lana’s Love and Trust, and Rennie Gemmell at Brockville General Hospital for their care of Warren these past years.
Family and friends will be received at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. E., Brockville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Chapel on Saturday April 27th, 2019 at 11 am, with interment to follow at Oak Leaf Cemetery. In memory of Warren, donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care or Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
