Susan and Steele Family - My condolences on the passing of a true gentle man. Bud was always quick with a smile and a hello when I greeted him at his second home (or was it really his first) - the Brockville Country Club. He was the first person to play in the Spring and the last one out in the Fall - nearly always dressed in his signature shorts! Bud was a great example of being "younger next year". His positive attitude and love for being "in the game" kept him involved and moving forward. I will miss his thoughtfulness, spirited nature and calm approach to his passage through life's journey. May he rest in the arms of our Lord.

Susan, Graeme, and your families: It is with great sadness that we read the passing of your Dad in our newspaper the Montreal Gazette which included his picture along with a wonderful commentary on his life, family, reaching the age of 97years young. Margaret and I had the privilege of communicating with him along with your Mother prior to her passing for many years at Christmas time to exchange our greetings and best wishes. Last Christmas season during our conversation he did mention that he was having some health issues, as it appears that many of us do as we reach our senior aging years. I personally have been blessed to have now reached 85 with Margaret close behind whereby we recently celebrated 62 years of marriage together. Like yourselves we are fortunate in having for daughters along with an extended family. Our connection over the years is that my Mother was a Myrtle Innes Shearman before she married my Dad William Robertson LeBrun. We will miss the ongoing connection with "Bud" as we called him but are thankful for the past relationship. May he rest in peace. Respectfully, Keith LeBrun.

Bud Steele was my friend and an inspiration to all who knew him.He was a gentleman,a generous man with a subtle sense of humour.We spent many years playing golf together,which is one of the highlights of my life.His service to the community was exemplary and he was a role model for each of us.My life is richer because of our friendship.Sue,you had a wonderful father.
