Obituary of Earl Newman Throop
(March 19, 1925 - February 26, 2020)
It is with broken hearts and great sadness we announce our family’s chain has been broken with the peaceful passing of Earl Throop at home surrounded by his family, our amazing husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather in his 95th year.
Dearest husband to Helen (nee Murray) for 69 years on March 7, 2020 and loving father of Carl Throop (Diane), Debbie Lawless (Paddy) and Kim Byers (Earl). Proud and precious poppy of Jason Throop (Denise), Jodie Throop (Rachel), Ryan Lawless (Nicole), Michael Lawless, Jesse Byers, Kailee Byers (Cathan), Lindsay Byers (Cody), Taylor Byers (Brenna), Emily Byers and great- grandfather of Lawson Byers. Dear brother of Alice McLean, Mary Reynolds and brother-in-law of Norma Throop and Bill Murray (Iris). Pre-deceased by his parents Ray and Adelia Throop (Newman), twin brother Carl who was killed in action at 19 years of age in World War 2 and buried in France, brothers Arthur and Junior, sisters Sadie Myers, Dureen Robinson and granddaughter Erin Lawless. Beloved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.
At the age of thirteen Earl left the family farm in Domville and headed west to work for two years at area farms, then was employed for four years with the Valley Camp Steamship company and then headed north to the logging camps. He then returned and joined the Canadian National Railway company and continued working for the CNR for 34 more years. Being a hardworking man, he built his own home and resided there until his passing. Earl loved his cars having owned 40 cars with the Cadillac brand being his favorite and enjoyed many a cigar. Having been retired for over 30 years he enjoyed this time with his wife Helen and his family, tending to his well-known vegetable gardens, being "Mr. Fixit", camping, helping his children build and renovate their homes as well as neighbors with his carpentry skills.
He will be missed immensely by all who knew him and remembered forever and always in our hearts.

To our family you were the world! "
