Obituary of Kenneth Joseph McKettrick

Kenneth Joseph Patrick McKettrick peacefully while residing at St. Lawrence Lodge on Wednesday February 26, 2020. Kenneth was born March 17, 1920 in Montreal Quebec. He was one of 7 children, born to the late Joseph and Mary McKettrick. He was married to the late Margaret McKettrick (nee Jourdanet) for 66 years and was predeceased by his 6 brothers and sisters, Eileen, Cecelia, Sidney, Vincent, Fran and Marjory. Kenneth enlisted in the Navy during the Second World War, serving as a “First Class Stoker” on the mine sweeper HMCS Mahone. Following the war, he worked for Imperial Oil until his retirement in 1979. While Ken was with the oil company, he and Margaret lived for two years in Greece. They loved travelling during their marriage. Retirement for them was a busy and social time, they had many friends. Many winters were spent in Barbados and later in Florida, where Ken pursued his love of golf and shooting pool. Kenneth was an active member of the Brockville Canadian Legion as well as an active participant at Bridlewood Manor. He had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He was good natured and always had something positive to say to everyone. Uncle Ken will be forever remembered by us, his nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and his many friends.
