Obituary of Mary Reynolds

It is with broken hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Mary Reynolds (Throop). Beloved wife of the late Morley Reynolds (1978). She entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital in her 94th year. Mom is survived by her 5 loving children. Judith Gauthier (Douglas) South Hampton, Bonnie Bigras (Paul) Ottawa, Terry (Deborah) Chalk River, Doug (Barbara) Maynard and Tammie Trickey (Dale) Mallorytown. She is also survived by her loving Grandchildren—Eric (Marissa) Ottawa, Marie (Chris) Ottawa, Heather (Tim) South Hampton, Derrick (Allison) Pembroke, Shannon (Charles) Deep River, Adam (Ashleigh) Mallorytown, Blake (Mercedes) Augusta and Ashley, Maynard. She is also survived by 9 Great Grandchildren and another due to arrive 2 weeks. Dear sister to Alice McLean and sister-in-law of Norma Throop and Helen Throop. She was predeceased by her parents Ray and Adelia Throop (Newman), her 3 Grandchildren Michael, Jenna and Ryan. Her brothers Arthur, Earl, Carl, Junior as well as sisters Sadie Myers and Dureen Robinson. Mom worked at the Fischl Sock factory when she was a young woman and then at RCA for a short period of time. She loved to play cards and was ready as soon as someone mentioned it, she was well known to have the Throop temper as family would tease. She enjoyed playing cribbage and euchre with her family and friends. One of her favorite pass times was to knit. She knit numerous outfits for nieces, nephews and her grandchildren. She was often found at Walker House in Prescott quilting and doing Bunka with her friends. Mom was a member of UCW of St. Pauls’ United Church in Prescott and the Wellington Rebekah Lodge up until her health deteriorated and no longer allowed her to go. She loved to travel with her sister and friends in her younger years, having travelled to Australia, Fiji, Hawaii and Alaska. Mother you will be extremely missed by all who knew and loved you. You will always be remembered and forever be in our Hearts, we love you. In compliance with current Health and Public Safety Directives, there will not be a public Celebration of Mary’s Life at this time. Interment will at take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In memory of Mary, donations to St. Paul’s United Church, Prescott or the Brockville District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care would be appreciated by the family.
