Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital, Charles street site on Friday June 12, 2020. William “Bill” deJong of Brockville aged 81 years. Beloved husband of the late Lynda (Laforty) deJong. Loved father of Denise Anthony (Kevin) of North Augusta, Debbie Bruins (Bill) of Johnston, Michelle Rothfuss (Mark) of Massachusetts, Dale deJong (Kelly) of Brockville and Darryl deJong (Elsie) of Saskatchewan. Grandfather of Nick Anthony (Claire) of Vancouver, Charlotte Anthony (Dan) of France, Ian Anthony (Comfort) of Africa, Kyle Rothfuss, Emily Rothfuss both of Massachusetts, Alexis Bruins of Cumberland, Tanner deJong of Brockville, Johnathan deJong of Montreal, Justin deJong and Jackson deJong of Saskatchewan. Proud Great-grandfather of Pokut Anthony of Africa. Bill is also survived by a brother Frank deJong (Elsie) of Algonquin, a sister Beatrice Wallace of Brockville, sisters-in-law Barb deJong of Cardinal and Pat Hull (Russell) of Smiths Falls as well as a special friend Barb Mathieson and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Siebold and Jantje deJong, a daughter Tracey Dawn deJong, a brother Andrew deJong and a brother-in-law Don Wallace. Bill was a active coach and mentor for many young children in the area playing baseball as well was a enthusiastic golfer and loved tending to his horses. By request of Bill, cremation will take place. There will not be a Public Celebration of Bill’s Life, at this time. Interment will at take place at a later date.
