I had the privilege of meeting Dean when he first came on board with community bus access for citizens with special needs in Leeds-Grenville. Working for the Brockville Hospitals in my capacity in therapeutic recreation, Dean was the one constant that ensured community access was provided year round His smile and quick wit was a joy to watch between his ridership and himself.
The community has lost one of their truly special citizens. Rest In Peace Dean.

To Dean Humble's Family--- I have just read the wonderful and deserving tributes that many others have posted online in memory of Dean Humble. I have known Dean for over 50 plus years. What an obliging, pleasant and kind servant he truly was to so many who were not contented with being housebound due to their immobility. A good friend of mine loved to go the Brockville Arts Centre (BAC) very often, but she needed the para-bus and an expert driver like Dean. Dean was her hero for many years. He never as much frowned when the theatre would often run late, keeping him at the BAC well past others' bedtime, even in inclement winter weather. Dean was a truly fine public citizen who walked the talk of kindness by demonstrating love and empathy to his neighbours. He accommodated others routinely, always putting their needs above his own. Sincere sympathy to Dean's family. - Millie Craig, Brockville

Lana it was with great sadness that I learned of Dean's passing. He was a great man always there to help those in need. In the time I worked at the Manor and needed Dean he was there. So many great memories of special trips with him and residents. Seeing the Christmas lights or heading out to riverfest, or a concert with a bus load, he was always there. If a resident had a special family event he made his service available (even after hours). Shoveling walkways to get someone out for a medical appointment, he was there. He will not be forgotten by anyone who came to know him. Our thoughts are with you and the family.

To Lana and family, We were so sorry to hear of Dean's passing. First met him when he joined Jaycees years ago, and then went on to start Para Transit. He changed the lives of so many people. Of the many words that describe him, two stand out. Reliable and caring. Here's hoping these traits can be carried on. It was a pleasure to know him.

My sincere sympathies to Dean's family. Many years ago and for several years, Dean drove my daughter, Sherry, to work at Compas every morning and back home at the end of her shift. Sherry was developementally handicapped as well as mute and deaf. Dean was always so kind to her. Whenever we saw Dean he always asked how Sherry was....and this was many years later. He was so kind, we will never forget him.

Dear Lana,
So sorry for your loss. I knew Dean to be a generous, compassionate and caring man.
Having shared a small part of his labours one summer, that became evident to all concerned.
I shall remember always his quiet humour and unique chuckle. A man's goodness is everlasting.
Condolences and loving thoughts to strengthen you in this trying time. David

I remember Mr Humble as the best police officer along with Andy as they were the ones who brought donuts and hot chocolate for the volunteer crossing guards at St Mary’s ( when it was a grade school), it has been a long time but it was a profound memory as both showed the good and community involvement that has been instilled in my life and many others. Mr. Humble set an example on how we are to be with each other.
Blessings

DEAN HUMBLE, who started the Brockville Para Transit will be dearly missed by all who's lives he impacted. You definitely left your mark on the world with the work you did. You gave "freedom" to those who were physically disabled by giving them a means to "travel" without boundaries. You were a icon in the eyes of Brockvillians and we will all feel the loss of your spirit, smile and caring ways. Heaven has gained another angel that those who knew you were lucky enough to have the experience of. My thoughts and prayers are with the Humble family as they cope at this difficult time!
