Our dear Jean was devoted to St. John Ambulance in Brockville, serving as a volunteer for nearly 50 years. Beginning in 1973, shortly after our branch was formed, as a member of the Brigade she attended countless community events, offering first aid services to many. She was was the recipient of the Broadbent Trophy in 1980, for that year's greatest contribution to the division and also received a Priory Vote of Thanks. In 1982 she was admitted as a Serving Sister to the Most Venerable Order of the Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem, and was promoted in 1993 to the Grade of Officer in the Order. She later served on the Board of Directors until her death in 2020.
Jean was our historian, keeping scrapbooks full of pictures and articles about our Cadets ,our Medical First Responders, our Therapy Dog owners and their dogs, and our Car Seat technicians. Jean spoke to residents of long care homes, helped organize Branch social events, and wore her uniform with pride to represent St. John whenever the occasion arose.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and all members of our units, our most sincere condolences to her family and friends.
Margaret Wicklum, Chair, Leeds, Grenville and Lanark St. John Ambulance.

I took the St John’s First Aid course back in the late 70’s and again in the 80’s. Jean was the instructor. From her many shopping trips to Zellers and our many visits she became a very dear friend. My deepest sympathy to Jeans family. RIP Jean, fly high with your new wings; you have certainly earned them.
