I am the daughter of Lionel and Paulina Macpherson who were the Uncle and Aunt of Jean. I regret that it has been quite some time since I visited with Jean but I have fond memories of the few hours we were able to spend together. Like her mother before her, Jean had a great singing voice and became a wonderful nurse, and wife and mother. I hope your memories of wonderful times together will help you through this sad time.

Dear Mylks Family--- Jean was a fine professional nurse who role modelled sound ethical principles, and exhibited flawless deportment for her nursing students, peers and patients. Jean was always impeccable in her deportment, whether in uniform or regular dress, and was considered a very fashionable, well turned out, talented and accomplished lady. In difficult situations, she could see great hope, and would often leave a serious conversation with a hearty laugh and a positive twinkle in her expressive eyes. Her motto was to carry on, always show up, do a good job, and to know when enough was enough. Her great and folksy musical talent could have given her an important presence on the best of stages. Whether she sang for special occasions or spontaneously, it was never quite enough for her audience. Thanks Jean, for never being common-place, but for always putting forth your special vibrant self. Others valued you, and your unusual talents greatly. Sincerely, Millie Craig

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of Jean. I have many fond memories of her as a friend, mentor, colleague and role model in the nursing profession. I remember her in the hospital corridors with many new and eager students under her wing. I had the pleasure of working with Jean at St. Lawrence College, with lots of good memories and laughter. My sincere condolences to all the families at this sad time.

I am so sad to hear of your Mom’s death, Wendy & Greg. I am remembering the great fun we had over the years at our Nursing Reunions as well as our Class of ‘56 get togethers. Her beautiful voice, sense of humour and teaching skills were gifts she shared. I particularly enjoyed our holiday trip to Muskoka, her sweet song at my wedding and our teaching times together.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She was my biology teacher in the RPN course. And I had the pleasure of caring for her during her stay at the Lodge. I would joke with her about being one of those Smiths Falls girl like myself and she would giggle or ask her what we were going to learn about today. I hope the many happy memories assist you in your healing. Take care and stay safe
