Obituary of Mary Ruth Grant

Mary Ruth, age 84, grew up on a family dairy farm in Finch ON. After graduating from Finch High School, Mary Ruth held several positions at both the Bank of Canada and National Research Council, in Ottawa. After moving to Brockville in 1966, Mary Ruth focused on raising her two boys, Stephen (Janice) of Calgary and Mike (Alison) of Brockville. Sporty, compassionate, loving, thoughtful, proud, considerate, competitive, gracious, happy, caring, generous are just a few words that describe Mary Ruth as a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend, neighbour and colleague. Cherished by her 3 grandchildren, Ella and Gavin Grant and Danika DeLuis, each will be left with their own special memories of a very playful, protective and loving Grandma. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Ruth Cameron (nee Eastman) and her brother Dalton Cameron, she will be dearly missed by her sisters, Elaine Dunlop and Ruby Dillabough (Daryll), of Ottawa, as well as all of her beloved nieces and nephews, each holding a very special place in her heart. Family will receive friends at Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville, ON, on Friday September 3, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life, in the Chapel at 3:00 pm. In memory of Mary Ruth, donations may be made to the Hilltop Manor of Merrickville ON, for their outstanding care, compassion and professionalism.
