With his loving family by his side and great sadness but with much love in our hearts, Ed's family announces the passing of Edward Harold Branston at the age of 73, on Friday October 22, 2021. A loving, kind and caring husband, Dad and Grandpa (Pop), he is survived by his wife of 52 years, soulmate and best friend, Linda, along with three beautiful children, Natalie (Jody), Angela (Paul) and Aaron (Lindsay). “Pop” is also survived by eight amazing grandchildren, his “Amazing 8”, the pride and joy of his life, Leanne, Jenna, Lexy, Kye, Teagan, Dane, Hayden and Tristan. Ed will be dearly missed by his brothers Brendon (Sharon) and Daryl (Tracey) and sister Karen (Glenn), and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, Ed will be lovingly remembered by Linda’s side of the family, her brothers Jimmy, and Micheal (Lill) and their families. He is predeceased by his parents Ruth Sarah Cooper May and Edward Joseph Branston and sister Pearl (Brian). Worshipful Brother Edward Branston was an active member of Masonic Lodge Salem 368 in Brockville, Ontario. He was a four-year Past Master of Salem Lodge from June 2012- June 2016. As keeping with Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday October 29th, 2021 from 7 – 9pm at Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Peral St., E., Brockville, Ontario. Due to COVID restrictions, those who wish to attend the visitation are encouraged to RSVP to the Funeral Home at 613-342-2792. A Celebration of Ed’s life will be held on November 7, 2021 from 1 – 4pm at McKibbin’s Irish Pub, 6361 Route Trans Canadienne, Pointe Claire, QC. Respecting COVID protocols, family and friends are invited to join us. In lieu of flowers, donations to Brockville and District Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated by the family.
