Sir John Hiram Wallace Blair WWII Veteran Peacefully entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital, on Wednesday December 8th, 2021. Sir John Blair of Brockville age 97 years. John was awarded Knighthood by the country of France for his war efforts in helping liberate it during WWII. Beloved husband of the late Helen (Hamilton) Blair. Loving father of John Blair (Darla) of Lyn, Mike Blair (Cheryl) and Sue Toth of Brockville, Angie Tessier (Paul) of Mallorytown and the late Kirk Blair and Sherry Baker. Cherished grandfather and great grandfather to many. Son of the late Donald and Jennie (Haley) Blair; and brother of the late Elizabeth Forrester, Harold Blair, Marion Valliant and Joyce Foster. Also missed by daughter in law Joanne Blair; and brother-in-law of the late Pat Hamilton (late Margaret), Viola Lawson (late Joe), the late Muriel Wheatley (late John), Edna Baker (Grant), the late Kenneth Hamilton (late Shirley), Garnet Hamilton (Evelyn), Wilbert Hamilton (Barb), the late Doris Hamilton (late Gordon), the late Lorne Hamilton (Marie), the late Lillian Hamilton (late Leonard) and the late Elizabeth Hamilton, the late Marg Saunders (late Reg), the late Charlie Hamilton, the late Eric Hamilton (late Trudy); and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St. East Brockville for a Funeral Service to celebrate John’s life on Wednesday December 15th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Oakland Cemetery following the service.
