Peacefully, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at his residence on Wednesday January 23, 2008. Dennis Franklin McGarr of RR# 4 Brockville aged 78 years. Beloved husband of the late Alice May McGarr nee Boyd. Dennis is survived by his 3 daughters and their husbands Denise Prosper and her husband Jake of Brockville, Elizabeth Miller and her husband Don of Russell and Linda Chapman and her husband Clare of Colborne. Grandfather of Nathan and Lauren Prosper and her fiance David Morin, Natalie and Charlene Miller, Tiffany and Tyler Chapman. Special and dear friend Mary Bird and her family Gloria, Susan, Steve, Melissa and Christopher Birtch. Also survived by his step father Raymond Perrin, sisters-in-law Shirley McGarr, Bernice Skramstad and her husband Ken and a brother-in-law Keith Boyd and his wife Margaret as well as several nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by good friends Jamie Auld and Frank, Danny Mallette, Paul Clarke and many others. Predeceased by his parents Edward McGarr and Annis McGarr Perrin, a sister Elizabeth (Betty) McGarr and a brother James McGarr. Family and Friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday January 26, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In memoriams to the Brockville General Hospital Foundation Palliative Care, The Delta Mill Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be grayrfully acknowledged by the family.
