Passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday March 26, 2022. Charles James “Gary” Dawson aged 80 years. He was born January 9, 1942. Predeceased by daughter Katie, parents Hayden and Jean Dawson, and brother Brian. Beloved brother of Randy Dawson (Marg), Karen Magee (Dave) and Terry Dawson. Gary is fondly remembered by nieces and nephews as well as dear friends Bob and Ruth Edgley and many other close friends and relatives. Gary was extremely devoted to horse rodeos in his younger years and was a cattle drover for all of his life. Gary will always be remembered by his sense of humour, his devotion to the Ottawa Senators and loved being Uncle Gary to his extended family. Family and friends will be received at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville, on Wednesday April 6, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of life. Interment will be held in the spring at St. John’s Cemetery, Gananoque. In memory of Gary, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or BDHF - Palliative Care would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
