Obituary of Carol Ann Bews

In loving memory of Carol Ann Bews (McWilliams)

No farewell words were spoken, no ability to say goodbye, you slipped quietly away, where at last, in Heaven’s hands you lie.

Passing away peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on December 1, 2022, at the age of 82, she will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her three children Bobby, Cheryl, and Susan (Brad), her sisters Judy (Aiden) and Barb (Keith), her grandchildren B.J., Jennifer (Ryan), Natalie, Scott, Alexandra (Blake), Cole, Natalia and great granddaughter Keira. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Dorothy Bews, former husband, Robert (Bob) McWilliams, and son-in-law Tony Berchem. May they meet again.

Carol was born on March 19, 1940, in Gananoque, where she was raised and educated before moving to Brockville to marry and start a family.  As her children grew, she held different roles from school bus driver to supervisor at Shorewood Packaging to supporting the elderly at St. Lawrence Lodge, from where she retired.

She had a deep love of birds, especially ‘her’ hummingbirds and was an avid baker.  Treats could always be found in the kitchen, including her famous shortbread cookies, cherry nut cookies, gum drop cake, and butter tarts, particularly during the holiday season.

May she be met with and forever find peace and serenity. 

A private celebration of life will be held with family.
