Winifred Ann Went passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023 at the Providence Care Hospital in Kingston at the age of 81. Winnie was the beloved wife of John Harvey Went and the loving mother of Catherine (Darren) and Deborah (Brian). She was the adoring grandmother of Laura and Sarah. She was predeceased by her parents George and Winifred Marshall of Cornwall, Ontario. Winnie is survived by siblings Colin (Eleanor) of Cornwall, David (Susan) of Bracebridge and Frank (Amir) of Toronto.

Following graduation from the Brockville General Hospital School of Nursing in 1963, Winnie worked at the BGH for one year. She then worked at the Kingston General Hospital, the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto and finally as a head nurse at the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Kingston.

Family and friends will be received at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl St., E., Brockville, on Saturday June 17th, 2023 from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. followed by the Celebration of Winnie’s Life held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with reception following.
