Obituary of James Boyd

It is with sadness, that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Boyd of Lansdowne age 77 years. Surrounded by the love of his family on Monday October 23, 2023 at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre.  Loving husband of Elizabeth “Liz” Boyd for 55 years. Treasured father of Paula Delaney (Mike) and Robin Hulton (Scott) and Cherished Pa of Jack, Tanner, Lindsay, Jared, Hallie, Rhett and Kale. Dear brother of Nora McCleary (Douglas) and brother-in-law of Christine Boyd. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jim is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Betty Boyd and his brother Patrick Boyd.

Jim was a staple in the community and will be deeply missed by his many friends over the years and the love he showed towards his home and everyone around him.  Retired from Stelco in Gananoque, he then spent years doing what he loved driving School Bus. He will be remembered as an active member of the Lansdowne Fair Board, a Fireman with the Leeds and Thousand Islands Fire Department, and for his love of horses and involvement with the Leeds & District Western Horse Association.

Friends may call the Barclay Funeral Home, 1033 Prince Street, Lansdowne on Thursday November 2, 2023 from 2 – 7 pm. A Graveside service will take place at Cross Cemetery on Friday November 3, 2023 at 2pm.
