Lydia Cheung

November 22,1952 - November 28, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Lydia Cheung, who departed this world on Tuesday, November 28th at the age of 71.  

Lydia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law who leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and unwavering support. 

Lydia's impact on the world is immeasurable. As a dedicated and hardworking entrepreneur, she and her husband Victor built restaurant businesses from the ground up. They worked tirelessly around the clock, without complaint, to create successful ventures that would become popular fixtures in the community. 

Beyond her professional endeavors, Lydia was the loving mother of Angie (Jeff), Victoria (Peter), Christina (Travis), and Kyle (Leslie). She was the beloved sister of Edward (Luna) and cherished daughter to Kwong To Lau and Chiu Kwan Lau.   

Lydia was also a very proud and involved grandmother to Nyah, Khyra, Sara, Rachael, Abigail, Noah, Kaitlyn and Brighton. Her love and guidance will forever be cherished by her children and grandchildren, who were a source of immense joy and pride in her life. 

Through her hard work and prosperity, Lydia ensured her children were afforded many opportunities to explore and thrive, instilling the values of hard work, strength of character, and determination. She had a soft spot for her children and truly enjoyed sharing her love of music and culture. Her incredible culinary skills were the heart of many cherished family dinners and traditions, where the Cheung family gathered, laughed, and made lasting memories together. 

Above all, Lydia was devoted to her husband Victor. Their love was a shining example of lifelong commitment and partnership. She cherished every moment they were able to spend together, and their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love and companionship.

Lydia was predeceased by her parents, mother-in-law, loving husband Victor and daughter Christina.

Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville, on Saturday December 9th, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A Private Family Celebration will be held.
